Since April, 1956, the Breakfast Optimist Club of Bloomington has been a friend of youth, organizing annual events for children and donating to organizations serving the needs of local children. The club meets weekly for one hour beginning at 7:30am (breakfast time). Led by the club president, the first 30 minutes of the meeting is used to discuss and plan upcoming events, while the second half of the hour is spent enjoying the guest speaker. Each meeting begins with the Pledge of Allegiance and ends with the Optimist Creed.
